∪: This is called Union.

Union serves as an umbrella for all the element that belongs to all sets.

In other words, all the elements that belong to a particular set or series of sets can be found in the union.

∪: {1,2,3,4,5,6,8}

Set A = {1,2,3,5}

 Set B = {2,4,6,8}

∩: Intersection.

These are elements that you may find in both set A and set B.

Let’s go back to our formal examples;

Set A = {1,2,3,5}

Set B = {2,4,6,8}

Let’s take, for example.

A ∩ B = {2}

A intersects B when the element of B is found in A or the other way.
